About This Place

Strickland’s Steakhouse in Woodbridge, NJ, offers an exceptional dining experience that elevates the classic steakhouse into an art form. Nestled inside a beautifully preserved early 20th-century bank, this unique setting—with its exposed brick walls and original architectural details—creates an ambiance that feels both upscale and warmly inviting. The fusion of rustic charm and modern sophistication envelops guests from the moment they step inside, setting the stage for an unforgettable meal.

At the heart of Strickland’s menu is a masterful selection of steaks and sharables crafted with care and bold flavors. The Ribeye Steak, famously tender and rich with marbling, arrives perfectly cooked, delighting the palate with each juicy and flavorful bite. Equally impressive is the Dry Aged Meatball with ricotta, served with a spicy pomodoro sauce that strikes a flawless balance between comfort and elegance. For starters, the Thick Cut Bourbon Bacon—with a luscious bourbon glaze and slow-roasted to caramelized perfection—is an indulgence that lingers in your memory long after the last bite.

Complementing the proteins are sides that are anything but afterthoughts. Creamed Spinach, a Strickland classic, offers a silky, decadent texture, while the Mac & Cheese blends the sharpness of cheddar with the distinct depth of bleu cheese, creating a velvety and balanced accompaniment. House Fries, enriched with truffle and parmesan, deliver an earthy, sophisticated crunch that complements the meal beautifully. The attention to detail extends to the starters like Grilled Oysters topped with miso lime butter and parmesan breadcrumbs, each element enhancing the natural briny sweetness of the oysters in a way that feels both inventive and comforting.

Diners rave not only about the food but also the carefully curated drink list. The Espresso Martini pairs a smooth, rich coffee kick with a silky finish, adding a spirited edge to the meal, while classic cocktails like the Negroni shine with their perfectly balanced bitterness and sweetness. For those with a sweet tooth, desserts such as the Chocolate Hazelnut Cake and the seasonal Pumpkin Cheesecake provide the ideal conclusion, offering rich, nuanced flavors and beautifully textured layers that satisfy without overwhelming.

Guests consistently praise Strickland’s attentive and warm service, which enhances the inviting atmosphere without ever feeling intrusive. As one diner noted, the staff strikes the perfect balance between friendly hospitality and professional attentiveness, contributing to a relaxed yet polished dining experience. Many appreciate the thoughtful touches, like fresh Caesar salads with crisp romaine and creamy shaved Romano, or the intriguing backstory of the “vault” used to dry age fish and meats, adding a sense of heritage and authenticity.

From the first bite of calamari perfectly crisped and tossed in a bold Thai chili sauce, to the last spoonful of rich gelato, dining at Strickland’s Steakhouse feels like a carefully choreographed celebration of flavor, tradition, and atmosphere. Whether you are seeking a memorable night out for special occasions or simply want to indulge in expertly prepared steaks and impeccable sides, Strickland’s delivers an experience that excites and comforts in equal measure.

An exceptional dining experience. The appetizers set the bar high — the thick-cut bourbon bacon was savory and indulgent while the calamari was perfectly crisp. Both steaks were outstanding: my ribeye was cooked to perfection with rich flavor and my wife’s Kansas City strip was tender and delicious. The mac and cheese was balanced without being overly cheesy or salty and the house fries were crisp outside and fluffy inside. Dessert and drinks ended the night on a high note. The chocolate hazelnut cake was rich yet light and my amaretto sour was surprisingly well balanced. Overall, Strickland’s offers thoughtful preparation across the board and is absolutely worth the visit for anyone seeking a great steakhouse meal.

IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A MEMORABLE DINING EXPERIENCE STRICKLANDS IS THE PLACE TO GO!!’ I recently dined at this restaurant and was thoroughly impressed from start to finish. The setting alone is stunning; housed inside an old, beautifully preserved bank, the space has a chic, upscale ambiance that immediately elevates the entire experience. The service was exceptional. Our server was warm, attentive, and truly made us feel taken care of throughout the evening without ever being overbearing. As for the food, everything exceeded expectations. We ordered the steak, the meatball appetizer, and the Brussels sprouts. I normally don’t care for Brussels sprouts, but these were prepared so perfectly that they ended up being my favorite dish of the night. Each plate was flavorful, thoughtfully crafted, and cooked to perfection. For anyone who appreciates high-quality steaks, refined service, and a sophisticated atmosphere, this restaurant is an excellent choice. I look forward to returning soon.

Great menu selection I was a big fan on the decorations and outlaw western theme as well of the back story of the old building being a bank and now they use the "vault" to now dry age fish and meats. The ribeye was one of the best I've had and the seasonal pumpkin cheesecake was great. The bread and bourbon butter along with the fresh caeser salad started off our nights greatly while waiting for our meal 10/10

My husband took me as a recommendation from a friend. It was a bank in 1901. Still has the original brick walls and some of the ceiling is original. The menu is not extensive. No pages to turn. The food impeccably delicious. My husband had the salmon and creme brule sweet potatoes. I got scallops and creamed spinach. The sides are ala carte. The server was a delight. She was attentive, and captivating. She explained the history of the building. I was flabbergasted when I walked in. Exquisitely decorated for the Christmas season. I felt like I had walked into a Christmas Wonderland.

I had an amazing experience at Strickland Steak House! From the moment we walked in, the place had a warm, inviting vibe—relaxed but still classy enough to feel like a treat. The staff were super friendly and on top of everything without being pushy. We ordered an appetizer a steak and and a dessert at the end to make it a perfect dinner. One thing it was honestly perfect—juicy, tender, and cooked exactly the way I asked. You can really tell they know what they’re doing in the kitchen. The sides were just as good; the mashed potatoes were creamy and flavorful, and the veggies had that nice fresh crunch. Even the bread they brought out was great. Mocktails were solid too, and the whole meal just felt really well put together. It’s the kind of place where you can go for a nice dinner but still feel comfortable and not overly formal. Overall, definitely a 5-star experience. I’m already planning my next visit! And they do have HALAL OPTIONS too.

I had an exceptional dining experience at this establishment for the first time. The moment we arrived, the staff's friendly demeanor stood out. The ambience was lively and festive. The crab cakes and Asian calamari appetizers were delicious. For the main course, we shared the port house steak, which was cooked to perfection. I will definitely return.

Hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time! Strickland’s Steakhouse hits every mark from the food to the service to the atmosphere. The Chorizo Scallops were unreal smoky, buttery, and perfectly seared. The Meatballs were melt-in-your-mouth good, and the Kansas City Strip was seasoned perfectly and cooked to absolute perfection. The Duck was rich and flavorful, and the sides (Brussels and Mac & Cheese) were both standouts. You can tell everything is made with care nothing felt rushed or heavy, just balanced and delicious. We finished with the Cheesecake and it was so smooth and decadent. Whether you’re celebrating something special or just want a great meal, this place delivers every time!
